And Caroline, I hope you mean that! I've been listening to a lot of Virgin Prunes lately, and I wonder WHY nobody has made that well-documented, well-written, serious but loving book. I half thought of doing it myself,... If you need an assistant?
...And now we're talking Prunes, I meant to ask you about a track Dave-Id did in 1983 (?) for the Dave Fanning sessions - (correct me if I'm wrong) - called 'J.R.' I only have it on a very old cassette, with other songs from that same session. I think it's hilarious, and would really like to know if these songs are available somewhere? I'd love to hear it properly...

I've always shied away from doing stuff about the Prunes, because I feel since I never saw them live and only learnt stuff after the facts, I'm not really the right person. But at this point, having talked about the band so much with a couple of its key members I think I could do it. I also now have access to some people who were fans in the very early days - people with good memory and insight.

I like the Vasselari book as the author's personal expression, but as someone said to me last week... it got a lot 'wrong'. One thing that's absent from it is the spontaneity and madcap humour. I'd really like to document that.

Whats happening with the new 'the light and the dark' book? Did you ever manage to get that online?
